How the guessing game works

  1. 1. Think of a character and keep it to yourself. Don’t type it anywhere.
  2. 2. Pick a round — everything, or one of the five themed sets below.
  3. 3. Answer honestly. Yes, no, probably, probably not, or don’t know. “Probably” nudges the guess rather than ruling anyone out, so one wrong tap won’t break the round.
  4. 4. It guesses as soon as one character is clearly ahead — often well before question 20.

There is no model and no server call behind this: the game is a scored decision tree that runs on your device. That is why it answers instantly even on a slow connection, and why nothing you tap is stored.

How does the character guessing game work?+

Think of a character and answer up to 20 yes/no questions. Each answer narrows a roster of 72 characters, and the game guesses when one is clearly ahead. It runs in your browser, so nothing you tap is sent anywhere.

Is it free, and do I need an account?+

It is completely free and needs no sign-up, no email and no app install. You only need an account if you want to chat with the characters afterwards.

Which characters can it guess?+

About 72 well-known characters across six rounds: books and comics, anime and manga, Bollywood and Indian TV, the Indian epics, real people from history, or everything at once.

Can it guess a real person I know?+

No, and that is deliberate. The game only covers fictional characters, mythological figures and well-known public figures from history. It never profiles private individuals, and it never asks for a photo.

What if it guesses wrong?+

Tap "keep going" and it carries on with the remaining characters. If it runs out, you win — and you can tell the Mind Reader character instead, which isn't limited to a fixed list.

Can I play it in Hindi or Hinglish?+

The questions here are in English, but the Mind Reader character plays the same game in Hindi and Hinglish, and it can guess characters well beyond this roster.

Is this like Akinator?+

The idea is the same — twenty questions, played by a machine. The difference is that this one runs entirely in your browser with a curated, family-safe roster, and it includes Indian epics and Hindi cinema, which most guessers miss.

Can I make it harder?+

Pick a themed round instead of "everything". A narrower roster means the questions have to work harder, and obscure choices inside a theme are the toughest to pin down.
